Publication Ethics

ANANTA: Journal of Language Education, Linguistics, and Literature is committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and ethical conduct in scholarly publishing. The journal adheres to the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) Core Practices and expects authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher to uphold these internationally recognized principles throughout the publication process.

The publication of a peer-reviewed article is an essential contribution to the advancement of knowledge. Every manuscript submitted to ANANTA is evaluated solely on its academic merit, originality, methodological rigor, ethical compliance, and contribution to the field of language education, linguistics, literature, translation studies, and related disciplines.

Responsibilities of Authors

Authors are responsible for submitting original and unpublished work that has not been submitted simultaneously to another journal. The manuscript must accurately present the research conducted without fabrication, falsification, selective reporting, or inappropriate manipulation of data, images, or results. All sources of information must be properly acknowledged through accurate citation and referencing in accordance with APA Style (7th Edition).

All individuals listed as authors must have made substantial intellectual contributions to the research and approved the final version of the manuscript before submission. Individuals who contributed to the study but do not meet the criteria for authorship should be acknowledged appropriately.

Authors must disclose any financial, institutional, or personal relationships that could influence the interpretation of the research. Sources of research funding should also be clearly identified in the manuscript.

Research involving human participants or sensitive data must comply with applicable ethical standards and institutional regulations. Where required, authors should indicate that ethical approval has been obtained and that informed consent was secured from participants.

Authors may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools solely to improve grammar, language, readability, or formatting. AI systems must not be listed as authors and may not be used to generate research findings, fabricate data, manipulate images, or produce misleading scientific content. Authors remain fully responsible for the originality, accuracy, and integrity of all submitted work and should disclose any substantial use of AI-assisted writing tools.

If authors discover a significant error in a published article, they are expected to notify the Editorial Office promptly and cooperate in issuing a correction, corrigendum, or retraction whenever necessary.

Responsibilities of Editors

Editors are responsible for ensuring a fair, objective, confidential, and timely editorial process. Editorial decisions are made exclusively on the basis of academic quality, originality, scientific significance, methodological soundness, and relevance to the journal's scope, without discrimination based on nationality, gender, ethnicity, religion, political beliefs, institutional affiliation, or other personal characteristics.

Editors preserve the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and disclose information only to individuals directly involved in the editorial and peer-review process. Editors must avoid handling manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest and must withdraw from editorial decisions whenever such conflicts arise.

Editors are responsible for selecting qualified reviewers, monitoring the integrity of the peer-review process, and ensuring that manuscripts are evaluated fairly under the journal's double-blind review system. When allegations of ethical misconduct arise, editors will conduct appropriate investigations and may request additional information from authors or institutions before making a final decision.

Responsibilities of Reviewers

Reviewers contribute substantially to maintaining the academic quality of the journal by providing objective, constructive, and evidence-based evaluations. All manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents and may not be shared, discussed, or used for personal advantage.

Reviewers should evaluate manuscripts based on originality, methodological quality, clarity of presentation, validity of findings, ethical considerations, and contribution to existing scholarship. Reviewers are encouraged to identify relevant literature that has not been cited and to alert the editors if they suspect plagiarism, duplicate publication, data manipulation, or other forms of research misconduct.

Reviewers who recognize a conflict of interest or who believe they are not sufficiently qualified to review a manuscript should promptly inform the editor and decline the review invitation. Review reports should be completed within the agreed review period to support an efficient publication process.

Responsibilities of the Publisher

The publisher supports the Editorial Board in maintaining editorial independence and ensuring that publication decisions are based solely on scholarly merit. Commercial interests, sponsorship, or institutional relationships do not influence editorial decisions.

The publisher is committed to preserving the integrity of the scholarly record, supporting ethical investigations, maintaining long-term accessibility of published content, and promoting responsible scholarly communication consistent with internationally accepted publishing standards.

Research Misconduct

ANANTA considers plagiarism, self-plagiarism, duplicate publication, fabricated or falsified data, image manipulation, citation manipulation, inappropriate authorship, undeclared conflicts of interest, and peer-review manipulation to constitute serious violations of publication ethics.

Whenever allegations of misconduct arise, the Editorial Office will investigate the matter in accordance with the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Depending on the outcome of the investigation, the journal may reject the manuscript, publish a correction or expression of concern, retract the published article, or notify the authors' affiliated institutions when appropriate.

Complaints and Appeals

Authors who believe that an editorial decision was based on a misunderstanding or procedural error may submit a written appeal to the Editor-in-Chief. Appeals should provide a detailed explanation supported by appropriate evidence. Every appeal will be considered objectively and independently, and the Editor-in-Chief's decision following the appeal shall be regarded as final.

Corrections and Retractions

The journal is committed to maintaining the accuracy of the published record. When errors that affect the reliability or integrity of a published article are identified, ANANTA may publish a correction, corrigendum, expression of concern, or retraction, depending on the nature and severity of the issue. Such actions are undertaken solely to preserve the integrity of scholarly communication and are implemented in accordance with COPE recommendations.

Copyright and Licensing

Authors retain the copyright of their published work while granting ANANTA the right of first publication. All articles published by the journal are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) License, which permits unrestricted use, distribution, adaptation, and reproduction in any medium, provided that appropriate credit is given to the original authors and the original publication.

By submitting a manuscript to ANANTA, authors confirm that they have read, understood, and agreed to comply with this Publication Ethics statement and all editorial policies of the journal.
